Crème de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) : 1/3
Red wine (usually Beaujolais, but even corcked wines work !) : 2/3

Taste. Add extra liqueur if you prefer sweeter.

Mega drinker's solution : 1 bottle of liqueur + 2 bottles of red wine !

History
The Communard is the red variety of Burgundy's famous Kir (Bourgogne Aligoté white wine + blackcurrant liqueur). The name probably comes from "commun", local nickname for "blackcurrant", very "common" plant there. Communard can be called "Cardinal" as well.
